Meet Nakoa! She is a beautiful spayed female Anatolian Shepherd Dog or mix. We estimate her DOB to be January 2021. Nakoa is heartworm negative and fully vaccinated.
This sweet girl has had a rough life but she holds no grudges. She is a warmhearted, loving girl who enjoys being with people.
While most Anatolians are not suited for apartments, Nakoa may be an exception. She prefers to be indoors and would likely be okay in an apartment or town home setting as long as she is exercised twice daily. Although she is small, she can pull pretty hard when on a leash so she will need some work on leash manners.
Her foster mom calls her a "Pocket-Tolian" as she is a very petite young lady. She stands about 24 inches tall and she weighs 53 pounds.
Nakoa is housebroken and has good manners indoors. She loves to snuggle and is a big cuddler. She also loves to give kisses and she has the "Anatolian lean" down pat. She is quite the "leaner."
Nakoa is playful and is good with other dogs, both male and female once she gets to know them. She is good with cats as well.
Nakoa's one vice is resource guarding with other dogs. Which is completely understandable, given the circumstances she came from. She does well when she is fed in her own space and food bowls are picked up after meal time.
This sweet girl will make a wonderful, loyal companion. She is ready to start a new chapter in her life and leave the past behind.
