DALLAS TEXAS; "WINDI"

Windi is about 3 years old and was turned into the shelter, along with his buddy, because the elderly owner was not financially able to care for them any longer. Windi's buddy was adopted leaving Windi facing euthanasia when NASRN step in to save him.  Smaller than purebred ASD, he is probably a Pyrenees mix. Weighs about 70 lbs.

Windi's foster mom thinks he would do best in a home where there is someone home often, if not all the time. He's a very big people person, and he follows her around everywhere.  Here's some more info from his foster:

- Calm and relaxed in the home. He will nap quietly in the room with you while you're working as long as you occasionally give him pats.

- Loves walks but doesn't need a whole lot of exercise to be calm. He mainly just enjoys being with his family so whatever you're up for he'll be up for! He does pull when he smells something interesting and he is pretty strong so be mindful of that. He is also prey driven so he will try to chase a rabbit if he sees one. I've found that once I get some of his energy out, he pulls much less the rest of the time.

- Used to not like cars and would whine, but he seems to be getting used to it now as he doesn't whine anymore.

- Very good with other dogs. I've come across a few on the street, and he is gentle and respectful. Also good with strange people we come across on the street. I've never been around kids before so not sure about that. He has a gentle personality though so I'm sure he would be fine. I would be careful around smaller children because he's very goofy and kinda clumsy. He might knock them down on accident.

- He knows basic commands (sit, lay down, come) and is very food motivated so I'm sure you can teach him more. He also loves rawhide bones - I've found compressed bones are the best for him and last the longest because he has a strong jaw.

- Very easily corrected and responds well to gentle reprimands. He enjoys being in his crate and will go inside when you ask without any complaints. He will lay there quietly until you're ready to let him out again.

- He rarely barks. He's a super quiet dog. The only time I ever hear him bark is when he sees people out the window.

He is a really good boy. He's very sweet. The vet loves him, and his groomer at Petco loves him too.
